How to choose diamonds: the rule of four C

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. This sounds strange, but in most cases, this statement is true. Women adore jewelry, especially diamond rings and necklaces. Jewelry is expensive. Sure, you can find diamond rings relatively inexpensive. However, don’t look for prices less than $ 1,000. Still, the biggest problem is choosing quality diamond jewelry. There are a lot of factors to consider when searching for the perfect diamond ring for your better half. The page downwards are the main characteristics of diamonds.

Maybe you’ve heard of the rule 4 c: cut, color, clarity and carat. Basically, these are the 4 key characteristics for diamonds. Let’s look at each of them in detail.

Cut. Is the only characteristic that is not determined by mother nature. Diamond cut exclusively depends on the skill and creative thinking of a craftsman. Diamonds are rough stones, while experts give their popular forms. Keep in mind that are shaped like diamonds not only to have those beautiful and romantic shapes like emerald or heart. Some forms may mask the imperfections of diamond. In addition, various forms of diamonds reflect light differently (this is what diamonds are rated for). Of course, a heart-shaped diamond on a ring will create the effect of “oh, my God, this is beautiful.”

Color. There is a myth that all diamonds are white or colorless. Seem clear at first glance. Still, if you compare some gems several side by side, you will surely find the color difference, some stones are quite a bit of yellow or brown. In fact, the colours include champagne, yellow, white, pink champagne, Brown, pink, Pink Pink and purple. Less color gems, are more expensive. There are also gems off the scale of colours.

Clarity. Diamonds are part of nature. Each stone is unique and so called “cravings”. These inclusions (internal imperfections) and flaws (defects on the surface of the diamond). Normally, such flaws are invisible to the untrained eye, although huge inclusions may adversely affect the clarity of a diamond and its ability to reflect light. Logically, gemstones, with few or no inclusions are expensive.

Carat weight. This is what mainly affects the price. Largest stone, the higher the price. A carat equals 0.2 grams. The name is derived from the seeds of carob tree that served as counterweights on the stairs. This metric has been adopted in the United States in 1913. As already mentioned, the price affect carats. Still, two stones of equal weight can have different prices due to the other 3 Cs.

Well, the most important factor is if not the best half loves the ring. The diamonds are symbols of love and devotion. Make a good choice and be happy!
